Hacking is exploiting vulnerabilities and gaps in computer or phone systems. This enables hackers to steal data, spy on you/your contacts, install backdoors and perform other malicious activities. Often, hackers are only interested in making money and will even publish embarrassing/sensitive information about you online to do so.
They can also affect a phone or computer with viruses, which cause it to be slow and prone for error messages. They can even record your conversations! These viruses are called trojans and can be hidden in music files photographs, games, free downloads tools, and other applications. The possibility of being infected by trojans if they open an email attachment that is infected or click on malicious links. Hackers can upload trojans onto unsecured websites to infect the maximum number of users. Remote administration tools (RATs) are a brand new type of hacking. These programs give the attacker full control over the victim’s computer.
In movies hackers are adept in figuring out passwords, but in reality they use malware to get around this. It could be malware that tracks the passwords that you type or a trojan which allows hackers to listen to conversations on the microphone on your phone.
Most successful hacking attempts begin with phishing emails/texts that trick you into clicking on links or calling numbers. This could result in the scammer having all access to your phone or computer or your personal information, and this can be avoided by always checking who is sending you a message before you decide to call, click or download anything. It is also vital to update your operating system frequently and check/delete attachments prior to you download them.
